We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer - Build/Devops to join our ZIA (Zscaler Internet Access) team. This is aBangalore role, reporting to the Director, Software Engineering. You will contribute to our cloud-native security service edge (SSE) solution, building on a decade of secure web gateway leadership. By leveraging the world's largest security cloud, you will help replace legacy network security solutions with a comprehensive zero trust approach that ensures superior defense-in-depth and connectivity for millions of users.
What you'll do (Role Expectations)
Design, enhance, and maintain efficient GitLab workflows to streamline code management and CI/CD pipelines
Optimize and maintain build systems such as Make and Bazel to enhance performance and scalability
Build automation tools to manage engineering infrastructure and reduce manual errors
Maintain, monitor, and scale engineering environments to ensure high availability and security
Implement solutions and processes that empower developers to work more efficiently

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
4+ years of experience in Build and DevOps domain managing highly scalable cloud-native and on-premises infrastructure
Proficiency with modern build tools such as Bazel or Make to optimize developer productivity
Strong Unix/Linux troubleshooting skills and programming experience in Python, Groovy, C/C++, or Go
Hands-on expertise with Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab
Direct experience with GCP and AWS cloud automation within distributed system environments
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Technical background or experience with FreeBSD
Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving computer systems engineering
