This role ensures the highest standard of deliverables by managing robust end-to-end testing strategies, fostering collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, and advancing automation practices for scalable, secure, and reliable commerce solutions.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead and mentor quality engineering teams, overseeing quality assurance across all commerce tracks and ensuring the integrity and reliability of deliverables.</li><li>Design, implement, and optimize automation frameworks and test strategies for complex backend systems, REST APIs, Kafka-dependent applications, NoSQL document databases, and cloud-based deployments.</li><li>Validate and automate test cases for systems leveraging event-driven architectures and cloud infrastructure (AWS or other providers).</li><li>Integrate test cases with CI and CD pipelines.</li><li>Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align testing activities with release goals and business priorities.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement in test processes, defect management, and automation coverage, proactively identifying and addressing gaps in test execution.</li><li>Facilitate technical training and development for team members to elevate overall quality standards.</li><li>Coordinate the scheduling and execution of testing and report errors and issues for resolution.</li><li>Contribute to the identification and ongoing monitoring of risks and concerns.</li><li>Review and approve test scripts and automation flows, ensuring best practices are followed across all commerce initiatives.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in automation scripting for large-scale applications.</li><li>At least 4+ years of experience working with backend systems, RESTful APIs, and validating/automating test cases for applications dependent on Kafka event streaming.</li><li>At least 4+ years of experience in Spring Boot and Java application development and automation.</li><li>Prior experience integrating automation test scripts with CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Strong expertise with NoSQL document databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Couchbase) and experience testing solutions deployed on AWS or other major cloud platforms.</li><li>Proven ability to manage distributed and offshore quality engineering teams.</li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.</li><li>At least 5+ years of cumulative experience with backend automation testing frameworks, including but not limited to Tricentis Tosca, Smartbear ReadyAPI, Cucumber BDD, and Karate BDD.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated experience with Tricentis Tosca, Smartbear ReadyAPI, Cucumber BDD, or Karate BDD</li><li>Demonstrated experience with Springboot and Java.</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Undergraduate / bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.</li></ul><p><strong>Work location:</strong> Hyderabad, India.</p><p><strong>Work mode:</strong> Hybrid</p><p><strong>Marriott’s core values:</strong></p><p>At Marriott, our make us who we are.
