\n \n Key Responsibilities:\n \n
\n\n 1. Page Layout & Graphic Design\n
\n\n ? Book Layouts: Design structured, age-appropriate page layouts, covers, and chapter\n
\n\n openers using advanced master pages and style sheets.\n
\n\n ? Visual Hierarchy: Create clear typographic hierarchies to break up dense text,\n
\n\n making lessons intuitive for young learners.\n
\n\n ? Art Direction: Brief and manage freelance illustrators and photo researchers to\n
\n\n ensure visuals align with educational goals.\n
\n\n ? Asset Prep: Render clean charts, maps, and vector graphics from raw editorial data.\n
\n\n 2. Prepress & Production\n
\n\n ? File Setup: Build technically flawless Adobe InDesign files optimized for\n
\n\n commercial print (precise grids, bleeds, and CMYK color).\n
\n\n ? Quality Control: Review printer proofs, digital bluelines, and color matches to\n
\n\n ensure high-quality output.\n
\n\n ? Vendor Coordination: Interface with print vendors regarding technical\n
\n\n specifications, paper stocks, and binding types.\n
\n\n 3. Collaboration & Workflow\n
\n\n ? Editorial Alignment: Partner with curriculum editors to map text perfectly to design\n
\n\n layouts and learning objectives.\n
\n\n ? Timeline Management: Manage multiple design deadlines across grade levels to\n
\n\n meet strict publishing calendars.\n
\n\n

\n \n Key Qualifications\n \n
\n\n ? Tools: Expert-level mastery of Adobe InDesign (long-document features),\n
\n\n Photoshop, and Illustrator.\n
\n\n ? Experience: 3+ years of book design experience, ideally in educational publishing or\n
\n\n children's media.\n
\n\n ? Print Expertise: Deep knowledge of commercial printing processes, pre-flighting,\n
\n\n and color management.\n
\n\n ? Education Lens: Familiarity with K-12 developmental aesthetics and layout\n
\n\n constraints.\n
