What You Can Expect

The SAP Basis Senior Analyst is a senior technical expert responsible for the administration, stability, performance, and optimization of enterprise SAP landscapes. This role leads complex
Basis activities, provides advanced troubleshooting, and serves as a technical escalation point while partnering closely with Application, Infrastructure, Security, and Architecture teams.
The role focuses on operational excellence, system modernization, and reliability across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments and operates without direct people-management responsibility.
This role includes accountability for modern SAP operations, incorporating AIOps, predictive monitoring, and operational automation to proactively detect issues, optimize performance, and improve enterprise system reliability across SAP landscapes.

How You'll Create Impact

SAP System Administration & Operations
•    Administer and support complex SAP landscapes across DEV, QA, and PROD environments
•    Lead system copies, client refreshes, upgrades, kernel patches, and support pack implementations
•    Manage SAP transports, background jobs, spool systems, and system configurations
•    Ensure SAP systems meet availability, performance, and SLA requirements
•    Standardize and automate recurring SAP Basis operational activities to improve consistency, scalability, and reliability
•    Design and maintain repeatable operational processes supporting enterprise SAP platforms
•    Apply platform ownership principles to ensure long Term operational sustainability
Performance, Stability & Troubleshooting
•    Perform advanced performance tuning and capacity planning for SAP systems
•    Act as senior escalation point for complex Basis and system-level issues
•    Lead structured root-cause analysis and remediation for production incidents
•    Proactively identify risks and recommend preventive actions
•    Utilize predictive performance and capacity analytics to identify and mitigate potential system issues before service impact
•    Leverage event correlation and anomaly detection across SAP, database, operating system, and infrastructure layers
•    Apply data driven operational insights to proactively reduce incidents and system downtime
Security, Compliance & Audit Support
•    Partner with Security and GRC teams on SAP security configuration and compliance support
•    Support audit activities (e.g., SOX ITGC, access reviews, system controls)
•    Ensure SAP systems comply with enterprise security and regulatory standards
•    Support continuous compliance monitoring and automated evidence collection for audit and regulatory requirements
Change, Transport & Release Management
•    Oversee Transport Management System (TMS) activities and release coordination
•    Ensure compliance with ITIL-aligned change and release management processes
•    Support planned maintenance windows and outage communications
•    Implement risk based analysis for transport and release activities to minimize production impact
•    Support automation of transport, release, and validation activities within SAP landscapes
AIOps & Intelligent Operations
•    Leverage AIOps and advanced monitoring platforms to correlate events, detect anomalies, and proactively prevent SAP system incidents
•    Partner with Infrastructure and Cloud teams to integrate SAP telemetry with enterprise AIOps platforms
•    Utilize predictive insights for capacity planning, performance optimization, and outage prevention
•    Identify opportunities for automation and self-healing across SAP Basis operations
Cloud, Architecture & Modernization
•    Support SAP systems in cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., RISE with SAP)
•    Collaborate with Infrastructure and Architecture teams on platform upgrades and migrations
•    Contribute to SAP roadmap initiatives including S/4HANA optimization and landscape simplification

Your Background

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    8+ years total SAP Basis experience
•    Experience supporting S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, or system conversions
•    Exposure to automation or scripting (Shell, PowerShell, Python)
•    Experience supporting global or 24x7 SAP operations
•    Experience implementing operational automation and intelligent monitoring for SAP environments
•    SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration)

Education
•    Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
•    6–9 years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience in enterprise environments
•    4+ years supporting SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA landscapes
•    4+ years supporting production-critical SAP systems, including on-call or after-hours support
•    Experience operating in multi-system, multi-environment SAP landscapes
